1 Corinthians 15:4 – the third day according to the scriptures

… and that He has been roused the third day according to the scriptures.

On the third day the land ascended from the waters and for the first time in Genesis 1, mention is made of life. On the third day, Abraham, after sacrificing his only son, got him back as if from the dead. On the third day, someone who was contaminated by contact with death was purified. On the third day, Israel traveled through the Jordan as a people.

On the third day the god Dagon lay fallen and shorthanded before the ark of the covenant. On the third day, the sick King Hezekiah went to the temple in good health. On the third day, Queen Esther was given the golden scepter. On the third day, Jonah was freed from the big fish and came ashore. Israel would resurrect as a nation on the third day. And so on.

It is just a selection from the Hebrew Bible. You stumble over the occurrences. The fact of Christ’s revival was explicitly foretold. But the fact that it had to take place “on the third day” could not be missed either. It is recognizable as a watermark on every page of the scriptures!
