1 Corinthians 15:4 – He has been roused

There is a subtle difference between ‘being roused’ and ‘being resurrected.’ ‘Being roused’ has to do primarily with the spirit while ‘resurrecting’ is an act of the body. Compare it with what happens when you wake up. First you are awakened from the sleep state and then you get up from bed (compare Eph.5: 14).
Christ died and lay dead in the grave until the third day. It was GOD who roused him from there. If GOD did not do that, Christ would still have been dead. Dozens of times the Scriptures say that GOD roused Christ from the dead (Rom. 6: 4). The doctrine that Christ rose from the grave because he himself would be God is not only false but also a fatal misconception. Because this doctrine makes it impossible to believe wholeheartedly that GOD roused him (Rom.10: 9).
GOD cannot die and therefore does not have to be roused. Christ, on the other hand, lay dead in the grave. I repeat: dead. But GOD roused him so that Christ resurrected once for all!
