is God finite?

On bijbelgetrouw.nl, an article was devoted a few days ago to the idea that goedbericht.nl would be teaching that God is finite and “will one day no longer be.” Yes, you read that correctly—that is what is being claimed. After all, I had recently written:

The “eonian gospel” is the Gospel of the eons. Just as “the eonian God” is the God of the eons. In these cases as well, eternal does not mean endless but refers to eons.

The author of the article in question (Rudy Brinkman) responds to this with:

What an un-be-lie-va-ble blunder..! Or does Mr. Piet now truly, really believe that God’s existence is finite? But then… then there is no hope left, for anyone. Piet—and I assume that in the circles of the universalists there are more who think this way—cannot possibly mean that he believes in a God who will one day no longer exist? Nowhere, absolutely nowhere, does God’s Word teach this.

To immediately reassure Rudy Brinkman: Mr. Piet believes with all his heart that God is “the incorruptible God” (1 Tim. 1:17) and has never seen the slightest reason to doubt this. The God of the Bible IS the Beginning and the End (Rev. 21:6). Everything begins with Him and also ends with Him.

What I wonder when I read the above quotation on Bijbelgetrouw.nl is this: would Brinkman, if he reads on the highway: “traffic-free up to interchange Gouwe,” ALSO conclude that a traffic jam therefore begins from that interchange?
