1 Corinthians 7:14 – Hallowed houses!

For the unbelieving husband is hallowed by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is hallowed by the brother, else, consequently, your children are unclean. Yet now they are holy.

The household of the faithful man or woman is holy. Even if the partner is unbelieving, that does not change this fact. The children are not polluted by their unbelieving father or mother. No, they are clean and holy because of that one believing parent. The power of the Gospel its truth is completely independent of how people respond to it. Unbelief makes the Evangel not less Evangel. In any way it is a Good Message for everyone!

Note that the children do not have to be sanctified. Sanctification is not a task assigned to the believing parent. It is not ‘trying’. ‘Trying’ is a typical human works verb in which the failure already resounds. No, the children are holy! Right now! That is their identity and the believer is called believer because he or she believes it and therefore trusts it.

Religious zeal tries to force a partner or child in a certain direction. The Evangel, on the other hand, tells them: believe it or not, but GOD is your Savior!!!
