Romans 3:21 – God’s righteousness in the OT

The revelation of GOD’S righteousness is “apart from law”. That means: it has nothing to do with a person’s performance or law abidance. GOD has done justice – that’s what the term means.
However, the fact that the revelation of GOD’S righteousness is “apart from law” does not mean that it came out of the blue unannounced. On the contrary, because in “the law and the prophets,” our “Old Testament”, it is being attested. That makes sense, because if the revelation of GOD’S righteousness means that GOD has done justice to his promise, where else but precisely in the OT would we find the promise again? In “the law and the prophets” GOD promises so much, but in the first place the coming of the Messiah and especially his resurrection from the dead. That is the promise made to the fathers (Acts 13:32). And now that that has actually been fulfilled, we determine that GOD’S righteousness has been revealed!
How often do the Psalms say that GOD’S righteousness will be proclaimed (Ps. 22:31) ?! Why? “Because He has done it!”
