Romans 1:27– Natural and naturally

Likewise also the males, besides, leaving the natural use of the female, were inflamed in their craving for one another, males with males effecting indecency, and getting back in themselves the retribution of their deception which must be.

In these verses the word “nature” and “natural” is mentioned several times. The Greek word (phusis, compare physics) for this is taken from a verb (phuo) meaning “to sprout.” It refers to parentage and birth. This also applies to our word “nature”, which comes from the Latin “natalis” (> natal) which means “birth. Something “by nature” is innate. It is opposed to what is artificial and shaped by human intervention or influence.

‘Nature’ also corresponds to ‘kind’ or ‘disposition’. As GOD created all animals ‘after their kind’ (Gen.1). That also speaks of what is innate. GOD created man “male and female” (Genesis 1:27). This is how a person is born, that is his or her sexual orientation or nature. Whether a person feels that way is completely separate from that. It is an objective fact. Known from birth. The masculine is anatomically and biologically oriented towards the feminine. And vice versa. That’s how the Creator made it, that’s how I may glorify and thank Him!
