Ephesians 4:23 – Being rejuvenated

…yet to be rejuvenated in the spirit of your mind…

Opposed to the behavior that fits the old human (:22) is the behavior that belongs to the new human. While the old human is continually corrupted (:22), the new human is constantly rejuvenated. After all, the new human finds its origin in “the last Adam, vivifying spirit” (1 Cor. 15:45). That is the resurrected Christ who has conquered death. This fact is the guarantee that eventually death will be abolished and all people will be made alive once and for all (1 Cor.15:22-28)! That is the Evangel and by believing that we get to know a vital life force that rejuvenates “the spirit of the mind” every day.

The world is corruptible and governed by death. This has an all pervasive influence on the thinking of a human. Even if he tries to suppress that fact and lives by the motto “let us eat and drink because tomorrow we die”. YOLO –   you only live once. But that is not LIFE, that is slowly dying. LIFE is that which Christ revealed in incorruption, when the stone was turned from the grave. Definitively. That fact and that guarantee vitalizes our thinking!
