Ephesians 3:8 – The untraceable riches of Christ

To me, less than the least of all saints, was granted this grace: to bring the evangel of the untraceable riches of Christ…

Paul would evangelize the nations: ‘lighting’ them with the evangel of “the untraceable riches of Christ”. That this wealth is untraceable confirms what we have already seen (:5) and what we will see (:9). It was previously hidden and revealed through Paul.

Plenty of riches in this letter. Such as “the riches of His grace” (1:7), “the riches of the glory of the enjoyment of His allotment”, and the “transcendent riches of His grace” in the coming eons (2:7). GOD’s plan is all-embracing and ‘work in progress’. Eons will still follow and only “in the complement of the eras” everything will be headed up in the Christ (1:10).

The untraceableness of “the riches of the Christ” is contained in this letter: the Christ that is the Head together with his body, the ecclesia. Today, GOD is calling out a community of people that He has destined to be part of the Christ. Intended to bring the universe to its destination from the highest position, “among the celestials” (2:7) (1:22). All of creation is predestined to glory, but the highest place, literally and figuratively, is reserved for the ecclesia!
