Ephesians 1:22 – given to the ecclesia

Paul just put forward how high Christ has been raised by God above anything. That may be hidden in this eon, but in the oncoming eon it will become public. But this is the grand finale of Paul’s explanation… God gives the man Christ Jesus, “as Head over all”, to the ecclesia.
In the Scripture the term ‘the ecclesia’ literally means: “the public assembly”. It’s the highest instance of decision-making (Acts 19: 39). This term concerns to reign. That fits to the subject in this verse: All will be subjected under Christ Jesus’ feet. He is Head over all. And in those capacities Christ Jesus is given to the ecclesia.
The ecclesia isn’t part of “all” that is subjected under his feet. No, for the ecclesia is Christ’s body and is a part of him! The aim of the ecclesia is, together with Christ Jesus as “Head over all”, subjecting entire creation. All, both in the heavens and on the earth (Ephesians 1: 10). Placed on the throne, that is God’s development plan for the ecclesia!
