1 Corinthians 13:5 – Is not taking account of evil

These words are usually explained from the idea that the harm done to me, I would not charge to the other. And it is true: that attitude describes the love of GOD. For when the world nailed the Son of God to the timber, He did not charge them this crime (2 Cor. 5:19). On the contrary, it was precisely through this route that He would give the world the Life that came to light when Christ was raised from the dead. Even the greatest enmity cannot cope with such Love. In this way GOD not only gives life to enemies but also turns enemies into friends.
Yet in 1 Corinthians 13: 5 it is not just about not counting evil. It is more: love is not taking account of evil. That is, it assumes no harm in the other. Call it silly but love is not suspicious and it is not based on bad motives in advance. If I do, it says more about my attitude than about the other.
This attitude and way of thinking does not mean negating evil. It does mean that we trust a good GOD who has everything under control and brings every creature to a good end!
