1 Corinthians 12:3 – Jesus is Lord!

Wherefore I am making known to you that no one speaking by God’s spirit is saying “Anathema is Jesus” And no one is able to say “Lord is Jesus” except by holy spirit.

With what Paul is saying here, he is giving his readers a litmus test. What place does Jesus occupy in the spiritual expression? If Jesus is cursed in the most extreme case, then that is of course not God’s spirit. Only in and through GOD’s spirit can one acknowledge the glory that GOD gave to Jesus by exalting him exceedingly.

Also in Romans 10: 9 the confession of Jesus as Lord is the touchstone. “For if you confess in your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that GOD raised him from the dead, you will be saved …”. Note: Jesus is Lord precisely because GOD raised him from the dead. So Jesus did not rise because he himself was God. Then he wouldn’t need another. Jesus was dead, but GOD raised him up and made him Lord (Acts 2:36)!

Ultimately, every creature will come to this confession that Jesus is Lord. Every tongue will confess it (Fil. 2: 9-11). From the inside! That is not a human achievement but a GODS spirit that influences that. To the glory of GOD the Father!
