In this weblog I would like to give a brief explanation of the changed policy of goedbericht.nl regarding copyright. Until now, the bottom of the homepage always stated that everything from goedbericht.nl could be reproduced freely, provided it remained unaltered and the source was acknowledged. As of 2010, that free reproduction is no longer allowed. The reason for this is that every now and then I unfortunately come across outdated versions of goedbericht articles on other websites. On goedbericht.nl, the article in question has by then already been changed or improved (whether in content or in form). I also regard that as one of the great advantages of publishing via the internet rather than publishing on paper. The internet is dynamic and can be continually adjusted. On my own site I can make changes with ease, but once articles have been reproduced on other websites, this is no longer possible, or no longer properly possible.

To put it briefly: from now on, anyone who wishes to draw attention to an article on goedbericht.nl on his or her website (please do!) should do so by placing a link to it. Only in this way can goedbericht.nl guarantee that the reader is reading up-to-date articles. Hence this change.
