1 Timothy 2:6– A ransom for all

… a Man, Christ Jesus, Who is giving Himself a correspondent Ransom for all (the testimony in its own eras)…

This is the climax of Paul’s testimony. He started with the statement that God wants all people to be saved and to realize (that) truth. For since there is one God, He is the God of all and through the man Christ Jesus He will realize this. For he gives himself as a ransom for all. Here again: all mankind.

The man Christ Jesus represents the one God by fulfilling what He wants. The fact that God wants to save all humanity means that it needs redemption, which is also implied in the word ‘ransom’: humanity is captured. Caught in sin and death (Rom.5:12). All descendants of Adam are sinners and mortals, but God wants to save them all by giving Life (Rom.5:18). Life beyond death. That is the redemption that GOD has in mind and Christ paid the price for it in His death. Because without death there is no resurrection. The world killed Him, but God raised Him from the dead, once for all!
