Romans 2:10 – to every worker of good

It is of the utmost importance for understanding what Paul is saying in these verses that he speaks here of humanity in general. Regardless of whether one has much knowledge (like the Jew) or little knowledge (like the Greek) of GOD’S revelation. The degree of possession of knowledge is not a merit. And besides, the one who “works the good” is not the neatest, the most decent or the one who tries the most. And certainly not the one who wants to earn God’s favor (= religion). On the contrary! For such an attitude only betrays that one “does not glorify and give thanks to God as GOD” (1:21).
Whoever recognizes God as GOD trusts Him that He makes all things well. That is the ABC of trust in God. For them “glory and honor and peace” is reserved in the eons to come (2: 7). The others will also be fine, but only after they have been judged (: 9). The judgment serves to teach man who GOD is and to set everything right. That can be painful, but it is necessary to get everyone where GOD wants them.
