Titus 1:2 The God, Who does not lie

The words spoken by God are very promising, but that in itself does not make these words unique. People’s words can also be promising, just think of sweet-sounding promises made by politicians during election campaigns. But what good are promising people who prove unable to live up to their words? Indeed, nothing. In fact, they leave you disappointed with a ‘hangover’.
In Numbers 23:19 we read, “El is not a man that He should lie, or a son of humanity that He should feel regret. Does He say it and then not do it. Or speak and then not carry it out?” (see also 1Sam.15:19). That God is omnipotent does not mean, as it is often explained, that God could do anything. Thank God that’s not true. Hebrews 6:18 emphatically states that it is impossible for God to lie.
God’s omnipotence does not mean that He can do everything, but it means that God’s will will be done and His love prevails. And what GOD intends and foretells will take place. Everything is under His control and nothing and no one can thwart Him!
