Newsflash: Trump portrayed as messiah in Easter prayer

During a prayer moment around Easter 2026, Paula White spoke a remarkable prayer about Donald Trump. She said:

And Mr. President, no one has paid such a high price as you. That is so true—it almost cost you your life. You were betrayed, arrested, and falsely accused. It is a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior has shown us. But it did not end there for Him, and it did not end there for you either. God always had a plan. On the third day He rose from the dead. He overcame evil. He overcame death, hell, and the grave. (…) And sir, because of His resurrection, you rose. Because He triumphed, you also triumphed. And I believe the Lord has said this to you: because of His victory, you will triumph in everything you undertake.

Here, messianic characteristics are attributed to a human being, directly linked to the unique work of Christ. That is, of course, entirely inappropriate and essentially blasphemous.

This is not an isolated incident. Trump himself claims to be a peacemaker for the Middle East. And he has also been received as such in Jerusalem and the Arab world. Earlier, he was openly presented by R.F. Kennedy as a rider on the white horse. And yes, possibly he is—but then the first from Revelation 6:2, not the one from 19:11.
