This week in Washington the Board of Peace convened for the first time, a consultation body initiated by the United States focused on peace, security, and reconstruction in conflict areas. The first agenda concerns Gaza, with emphasis on funding, governance, and security.

Noteworthy is its composition: Israel is part of a small core of approximately ten countries, together with prominent Middle Eastern states such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and Jordan. Decision-making takes place through committees under American direction, largely outside the familiar international frameworks. The present Board of Peace is not yet a fulfillment, but could be a precursor to a federation of ten kings, as the Bible announces for the end time.
