Newsflash: Rome drops the title, not the false teaching

The Vatican has, in a new declaration, distanced itself from the title “Co-Redemptrix” for Mary. This may appear to be a biblical step, but in reality, nothing has changed: Mary may still be called “Mediatrix” (albeit in a subordinate form), and praying to and through her remains a fixed part of Roman Catholic practice.
Scripture is clear:
For there is one God, and one Mediator of God and mankind,
a Man, Christ Jesus,
Who is giving Himself a correspondent Ransom for all…
—1 Timothy 2:5–6
This one verse leaves no room for misunderstanding. It not only refutes the status attributed to Mary, but also the doctrine of the Trinity. Christ Jesus is not the one God, but a man. Not just any man, but the one appointed as the one and only Mediator. As unique as God is (“one God”), so unique is the Mediator (“one Mediator”). In any case: Mary has no part in this.
Mary, like all the dead, has died and awaits her resurrection. To pray to her is nothing less than speaking to the dead – a form of spiritism, which Scripture has nothing good to say about.
Rome professes with the lips one Mediator, yet prays to a dead person – and in doing so, rejects the Living One, who gave Himself as a ransom for all.
