Regular visitors to this site (and the accompanying forum) will no doubt have noticed that recent discussions have once again centered strongly on the battle over the deity of God. Teachings such as that of free will (= God does not have 100% control over human will) or that evil entered the world unintentionally, are brought into the fray – all in an effort to ensure that God is not truly GOD.

The (often emotional) objections never rise above the level of shooting paper balls at a rock face. And the opponents keep complaining that the Goedbericht position is so ‘harsh’… 😉

Whoever uses their mind knows that God exists. That’s one. But… whoever then fails to give God the credit that is due to Him by His very nature, still misses the starting point of logical thinking. The recognition that God is GOD is not the result of reasoning. Whoever does not start with this premise will never arrive at the truth. Such a person quickly gets lost – either in their own reasoning or in that of others.

And not only that. It always comes at the expense of one’s inner rest, peace, and joy. Only the wholehearted acknowledgment that God is GOD (and therefore nothing ever goes wrong, since everything has a purpose) can enlighten a person. It brings insight, perspective, and causes one to shine.

How do I know all this so surely? Paul put it this way:

For, knowing God, not AS GOD do they glorify or thank Him,
but (1) VAIN were they made in their reasonings,
and (2) DARKENED is their UNINTELLIGENT heart.
Rom. 1:21
