EVERYTHING has a purpose

In Proverbs 16:4 it says:

“The LORD has made EVERYTHING for His purpose…”

“We believe that,” say pious Christians, “but… of course God did not make the wicked. For that someone is wicked can never be God’s purpose. God is certainly not the origin of moral evil.”

That is what people say. But now God’s Word:

“The LORD has made EVERYTHING for His purpose, YES, EVEN THE WICKED for the day of evil.”

Do you read it carefully? It does not say here that God made the day of evil for the wicked—although that is certainly true. No, here it says that God made the wicked with a view to the day of evil!

On the forum people cry out indignantly: “Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the eating of the forbidden fruit was God’s intention.” Even if that statement were true, it is irrelevant. The LORD has made EVERYTHING for His purpose. Everything that takes place (good and godless) has a place in His all-encompassing Plan. And therefore, with Him nothing ever goes wrong (and He is also not a sinner = “one who misses the mark”).
