Romans 1:4 – Son of God in power

… concerning his Son who comes of the seed of David according to the flesh, Who is designated Son of God in power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

According to the flesh, Jesus Christ is the descendant of David. But at the same time he is also the Son of GOD. The reason for this is twofold. First, Jesus Christ is Son of GOD because he was begotten of God himself. Without the virgin Mary associating with a man, the power of the Most High overshadowed her so that she conceived from holy spirit (Luke 1:35). No man is ever so begotten, which is why Jesus Christ is also “the only begotten Son of GOD”.

The second reason why Jesus Christ is the Son of God is that he was also raised from the dead by his GOD and Father! Of this Psalm 2: 7 speaks prophetically: “YAHWEH He said to me, My Son are you, I today have begotten you.” This word, according to Paul (in Acts 13:33), was fulfilled on the day when GOD raised his Son from the dead. So since his birth from Mary he is the Son of God. But by resurrection of the dead, he is the Son of God in power!
