Job 2:10 – Evil from God?

…indeed should we receive good from the One, Elohim and should we not receive evil? In all this, Job did not sin with his lips.

Many Christians believe that Job was wrong in the above statement. After all, does God not only give good things? Job, however, found the exact opposite. Setback after setback hit him. All his belongings were taken from him. And even all his own children died. And finally his health was taken from him.

Job had no knowledge of what was going on behind the scenes or the role of GOD’s opponent in all of this. But he knew that the evil he was experiencing now came from GOD no less than the good he enjoyed earlier. And for those who may think that this was a fallacy of Job, it is said, “In all this Job did not sin with his lips.” So it was true what he said!

GOD is a good GOD. That He also gives evil its place does not contradict, but confirms this. Evil is necessary. For in GOD’s hands, evil reveals the highest good. Without knowledge of evil, no knowledge of good. In thís way GOD makes every minus a plus!
