Ephesians 3:19 – completed for the entire complement of God

… to know the love of Christ as well which transcends knowledge—that you may be completed for the entire complement of GOD…

The aim of the knowledge of Christ’s love (it’s impossible for us to know it completely) is that we might completed for the entire complement of GOD. The reasons called by Paul, why he bowed his knees for his readers, achieve here an absolute peak: “… completed for the entire complement of GOD”.

In Colossians 2: 9 we read that “the entire complement of the Deity is dwelling bodily. That means: the entire Deity is living in the bodily risen Christ. Completely and fully. But it’s even more than that: because when Paul writes about Christ bodily, also and above all, he thinks of the ecclesia, the body of Christ. Imagine: the complement of GOD… in Christ and thus also in us! That is how GOD dedicated us.

Paul’s prayer is that the complement of GOD that is waiting us (soon, in our renewed body), would complete us already now. Although not yet completed with, but surely completed for the entire complement of GOD. As a growth process until our sure destination!
