Romans 3:26 – Out of the faith of Jesus

…toward the display of His righteousness in the current era, for Him to be just and a Justifier of the one who is of the faith of Jesus.

Twice Paul writes about the “display of his (= GODS) righteousness”. In verse 25 regarding the past in which GOD endured the sinful acts of mankind, with a view to the future. Meanwhile, the “display of his righteousness in the current era” has taken place. As Paul wrote in verse 21, “Yet Now, apart from law, righteousness of God has been made manifest…”! GOD has fulfilled his promise by resurrecting Christ! And with that He has shown to be righteous. He has done justice to his word.

But by fulfilling his promise, GOD has not only proved himself to be righteous. In the resurrected Christ He also justifies all “who are of the faith of Jesus”. In the phrase “faith of Jesus” Paul refers to the man Jesus here on earth. He went his way in faith and took up the cross “for the joy lying before him” (Heb. 12: 2). For in the Life that came to light in his resurrection, every human will actually be declared righteous (Rom. 5:18)! Jesus believed in that GOD and that future!
