Romans 10:11 – Who is believing on Him…31-08-2021 - Posted by english_editor
For the scripture is saying: Everyone who is believing on Him shall not be disgraced.
What Paul just wrote about faith is not an opinion or assertion of his own. It is a truth that we encounter throughout Scripture, and to demonstrate it, Paul repeats the earlier quote from Isaiah 28:16. In Romans 10:33 he already referred to that verse, but mainly there to show that Christ is the rock that God has placed in Zion. God has set a foundation in Zion by rousing his Son from among the dead there as the firstfruits. The resurrected Christ is the foundation because in him and through him all people will be saved, justified and made alive. There is no more solid foundation. Everything else is like sand and unfit for building on.
Work or achievement don’t count for God. There is nothing to be gained from Him as He Himself is the one who gives everything. Everything we are and have is only because of Him. All personal fame is therefore excluded. It comes down to trusting God and taking Him at His word and building on that alone. No one will ever be disappointed with that!
