1 Corinthians 14:36-38 – spiritual or stubborn?

Or from you came out the word of God? Or to you only did it attain? If anyone is presuming to be a prophet or spiritual, let him be recognizing that what I am writing to you is a precept of the Lord. Now if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant!

Paul had just put his finger on the weak spot. He knew, of course, that what he wrote about men and women would not be appreciated by everyone. And that is an understatement. And let’s face it: the same words are also an eyesore for many today. Everything is done to give the words a twist and let Paul say the opposite as what he wrote. And people even think that they are doing that spiritually. And undoubtedly also “theologically responsible” and “in a report with our time”.

It is not realized that what Paul writes about man and woman is not a personal opinion of him. It is an order in creation and has never been different since Adam. Certainly, men and women are certainly equivalent … but not equal. Thank goodness not! GOD has a special, separate role for both of them. Duly noted. Or not.
