For the saving grace of God made its advent to all humanity…

This phrase motivates (“For”) Paul’s instruction to believing slaves to loyally submit to their masters ” that they may be adorning the teaching that is of God our Saviour, in all things.” A practice that serves to demonstrate how great this teaching is!

What “the teaching of God our Savior” means is explained here. The saving grace of God made its advent to all humanity. And that means, as Paul puts it in 1Timothy 4 verse 10: God is the Savior of all people! Not just “to all humanity” as an offer, but as a statement: “to  all humanity”. This teaching is at odds with every human philosophy and religion that says what man must do to attain salvation. It is also at odds with the ‘evangelical’ variant that considers man’s choice to be decisive.

“The teaching of God our Savior” is not a call or a program. There is nothing to earn. It’s a message. A message that illuminates every mortal like a ray of light. Death has been conquered and all men will be justified and made alive (1Cor.15:22; Rom.5:18). Gratuitously, for free. The living GOD saves all people. What hope, joy and strength emanates from that! This light dispels all darkness. Let it shine!
