Romans 5:2 – Standing in grace and glorying in expectation!22-12-2020 - Posted by Andre Piet
Being, then, justified by faith, we may be having peace toward God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have the access also, by faith, into this grace in which we stand, and we may be glorying in expectation of the glory of God.
GOD raised His Son from the dead “for our justification”. That typifies GOD’S purpose for mankind. That is “free of charge” and therefore grace. That also means that we can trust Him completely and therefore have peace towards Him. He is not a strange or hostile GOD that we preferably would like to keep at a distance. On the contrary, the peace we have towards Him also draws us towards Him.
The word “access” in Greek is made up of the elements “towards” and “guidance”. We are led to GOD by the resurrected Lord, Jesus Christ. Through the resurrection power of Christ, we, too, “stand” in an atmosphere of grace and we rejoice in the prospect of “the glory of GOD”. No fear of things to come but an open window to the glorious end goal of GOD. An endless future in the ever more radiant eternal life. Until GOD will be “all in all”!
