Romans 10:12 – Rich for all who are invoking Him

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same One is Lord of all, being rich for all who are invoking Him.

The name and person of Jesus expresses who God is: Savior. He is Lord of all. Every human child is his property. Invented, made and moreover bought by Him. That is the great fact communicated to us in the Evangel. It is completely independent of the human response to it. So whether you know it or believe it or not.

In the remainder of the sentence (“rich for all who are invoking Him”), the human response is of course essential. For it is about “all who are invoking Him”. The “Him” obviously refers to the “Lord of all”. Anyone who calls upon Him will find that He is rich. In this context, that means above all that He saves (:13).

The “all who are invoking Him” is not a limitation here. For the Scripture testifies that in the end every tongue will call on Jesus as Lord, to the glory of God the Father. The fact that Jesus is “Lord of all” guarantees that He saves all. How does He save? By calling on Him. How rich is a person who calls on Him already in this life!
