Proverbs 15:15 – Continual Feast

All the days of a humbled man seem evil, Yet one cheerful of heart has a continual feast.

We all know: it is not primarily the circumstances that determine a person’s mood. Some people usually feel down, even in spite of pleasant living conditions. Others, on the other hand, suffer a lot of adversity and are nevertheless cheerful. What is that?

Our DNA will undoubtedly play a role in this. One is naturally optimistic and always sees the bright side of things while another soon sees lions and bears everywhere. Education will undoubtedly also be a factor here. Who are your examples and what have you been taught? Again, none of us made ourselves.

But the decisive factor for our attitude to life and mindset is the belief that we assume. What meaning do we give to the things around us? If we think that life is meaningless and unintended, there is no basis for solid hope. But if we trust in the one GOD who places everything, has a purpose for everything and also brings everything to a successful conclusion, yes… then we have reason to be cheerful. Not sometimes, but always!
