Philippians 4:19 – in accord with His riches 

Now my God shall be filling your every need in accord with His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

This verse beautifully illustrates why this letter overflows with joy. Paul suffered many adversity, was in prison but he believed that his GOD provides for all needs. The realization of having enough, isn’t that exactly what wealth is in its innermost being? But also knowing that everything you need will be provided. And, moreover, have confidence in GOD who is the only one who is really able to judge what we need. We ourselves, with our limited field of vision, cannot do that.

Also note the preposition in “according to his riches”. And not “from his riches”. That makes a big difference! An illustration. Suppose a millionaire tips a beggar on the street. Then he gives from his wealth. But if that same millionaire would give according to his wealth … then that beggar would receive a fortune!

Trust in GOD makes a person untouchable. It gives peace and overview. Whatever adversity may arise, GOD’S way is the best. Always. And through that confidence, even in the most difficult circumstances, He gives strength. Thus He fills our weakness with His strength.
