Ephesians 3:11 – The multifarious wisdom of God

…the multifarious wisdom of God, in accord with the purpose of the eons, which He makes in Christ Jesus, our Lord…

Paul was called to enlighten all (:9) so that now, by the ecclesia, the multicolored wisdom of GOD would be made known. The ecclesia is like a prism: when illuminated, it reflects the entire color spectrum. It is in the diversity of all members of the body, that the multifaceted wisdom of GOD is displayed. That is also one of the reasons why we come together as believers. We belong together as one family and “together with all the saints” (3:18) we are able to hear and experience the richly varied wisdom of GOD.

Multicolored or multifarious is typical of God’s way of doing things. We see that demonstrated in all GOD’s works of creation. All colors are covered. Nothing is meaningless and everything has a function. GOD’s wisdom shows that all details are related. They form a divine design.

We see diversity of colors as a bow in the sky which spans the entire earth. It is the emblem of GOD’s faithfulness from which nothing and nobody is excluded. Because GOD, the Creator, has an all-embracing plan that is anchored in Christ Jesus!
