2 Corinthians 12:9 – My grace is sufficient for you

Sufficient for you is My grace, for My power in infirmity is being perfected.

Paul wrote above about his thorn in the flesh. Whatever that may have been, Paul prayed the Lord three times to be delivered from it. But the answer he finally received was, “My grace is sufficient for you.”

It seems very pious to pray to be delivered from our problems. But Paul was told that his persistent prayer was a misunderstanding. It is not without reason that GOD places obstacles and difficulties in our lives. He does that so that we learn from it. Headwind makes us strong. Waiting teaches us to exercise patience. We gain wisdom through problems. Suffering teaches us to endure. Mockery and criticism keep us small. Instead of praying for deliverance from our problems, we would learn to see his grace in it.

Our weakness is not a condition that works against us, but works for us. It makes us abandon ourselves and look in the right direction. Not according to my inability, but according to his ability. Not according to what I cannot do, but according to what He can do! His grace is sufficient for me.
