1 Corinthians 4:2 – Faithful
12-01-2019 - Posted by Andre PietThus let a man be reckoning with us – as deputies of Christ, and administrators of God’s secrets. Here, furthermore, it is being sought in administrators that any such may be found faithful.
Paul should be counted as the administrator of GOD’s secrets. And here on earth, administrators are first and foremost expected to be reliable. Someone that one can rely on. He does what he says and says what he does. Someone who is honest and who serves the truth. Isn’t it primarily important in all human relationships that one can trust one another? In marriage, in the family, at work, in transactions or at appointments. Reliability is always the basis.
Elsewhere, Paul writes (2Cor. 2:17) that he does not peddle the word of God as many do. Because that word is not a commodity: it does not have to be sold. It is not about ‘ratings’. That is why one would not conceal matters for the sake of the supporters. Because then you are not a reliable administrator. Administrators should make GOD’s word known and should offer ‘clear wine’. Pure, without compromise. They would not serve an organization or their own wallet. What counts is: the truth, the full truth and nothing but the truth. Such administrators are wanted.
