1 Corinthians 15:27 – with the exception of…

For He subjects all under His feet. Now whenever He may be saying that all is subject, it is evident that it is outside of Him Who subjects all to Him.

Paul used words from Psalm 110: 1 before, here Paul refers to Psalm 8: 7. Everything is placed under the feet of “Ben Adam”. Literally “all” (Gr. Panta). Death is also ultimately destroyed. So that there are no more dead and all living will recognize that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of GOD the Father. It is the ultimate outcome of Christ’s rule. Everything will have come to perfection and nobody is missing. The climax cannot be bigger and more glorious!

But there is one exception that Christ will not be subject. That is unnecessary to explain further because “it is clear”. Paul obviously refers to GOD himself who has subjected everything under Christ’s feet. “For there is one GOD and one mediator of GOD and mankind: the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim. 2: 5). Christ Jesus is as unique as GOD is. Not as a human being, there are many of them. But as a mediator. It was Christ’s job to bring every creature back to GOD. And he succeeds 100 percent in that objective!
