1 Corinthians 1:25 – Who laughs last…

…Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the stupidity of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

The foolish and weak of God, refers to the cross on which Christ died (2 Cor. 13:4). That was weak and therefore to the world, foolish to appreciate. A Christ who comes to his end on a cross is the opposite of what is expected of him. Would he, after all, not bring in a new world-era (eon)?

That the weakness and the foolishness of God, nevertheless is stronger and wiser than the humans, was proved on the third day after the cross. The weakness in which Christ was crucified by men was answered when he was vivified in the power of God. The lamb that was slain, stood up in triumph! He is none other than “the lion of Judah”! Who could have ever thought so (2:8) when he was crucified as a weakling?! The weakness of God proved so much stronger than men! It overcame death! The wisdom of the world brought Christ to the cross. But where the world ended, GOD began. That is God’s wisdom!
