1 Corinthians 12:11,12 – according as He is intending

Now, all these one and the same spirit is operating, apportioning to each his own, according as He is intending. For even as the body is one and has many members, yet all the members of the one body being may, are one body thus also is the Christ.

Each of the effects and operations that Paul has just listed are assigned from one source. No matter how different those effects are and how different the people to whom they are assigned, it is one and the same spirit of GOD. He assigns to everyone his own. That is, everyone receives especially that which matches. Effects which GOD’s spirit works usually also match one’s natural abilities and talents.

In everything that GOD’S spirit sends to a believer, He works ‘as He is intending’ Every believer is assigned a specific place with a view to a specific function. That’s how it works in a body. Precisely because it is one body, all individual members have a distinct function. Where one completes what is missing from the other.
