the peace of God
12-11-2013 - Posted by Andre Pietand the peace of God, that is superior to every frame of mind, shall be garrisoning your hearts and your apprehensions in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:7-
In Romans 5 verse 1, Paul writes about the “peace with God”. Whoever knows to be righteous in the eyes of God (by faith), has peace with Him. He can look him straight in the eyes, without qualms of conscience or embarrassment. However wonderful this is, the peace of God, in the above verse, far exceeds it. The peace of God is the peace that God Himself has. GOD never is panic-stricken about the state of affairs in the world. He has no Plan B, because nothing ever goes wrong with Him. He is the Creator of every creature, and He determines everything, the large things as well as the small. He knows the purpose of everything and gives it a place, while He is on His way to the unimaginable future, for the whole of His creation. That is why He has perfect peace. A peace that we cannot figure out or understand. This peace is beyond all comprehension. In the previous verse, Paul had written that when we commit all our concerns and wishes, with thanksgiving, into God’s hand, that then His peace will conquer us. So, our whole heart-and-mind knows itself to be safe; guarded as in a fortress. Untouchable!
