Well Said!

Someone sent me a few suggestions for my links page. One of them concerned the website of the American preacher Carlton Pearson. On and through his website (website offline), I read a few striking remarks that I’d like to pass on. For convenience, I’ve translated them here.

Contrary to what is commonly taught concerning Romans 10:9 (“if you should be avowing with your mouth the Lord Jesus…”): we do not make Jesus Lord by our confession or obedience. God made Jesus Lord.

If you tell your dog “lie down” and at the same time say “go”… the dog will probably do neither. The dog is confused. Shout such contradictory commands at your dog long enough and the animal will develop something like schizophrenia.
Well, that’s exactly what the devil does through Christian religion. It preaches on the one hand “God is a God of love,” but at the same time, “God sends a large part of humanity to hell forever.”

Jesus is not only the Savior FOR the world. He is the Savior OF the world—and that includes YOU.
