Newsflash: Trump Received as ‘New Cyrus’ in the Knesset

During his visit to Israel, President Donald Trump received an exceptionally warm welcome in the Knesset. The Speaker of the Parliament, Amir Ohana, addressed him with grand words and compared him to Cyrus the Great, the Persian king who, according to Scripture, allowed the Jews to return from exile and rebuild the temple.

“You do not stand before the people of Israel as just any American president,” said Ohana, “but as a giant in Jewish history – someone for whom we must go back two and a half millennia to find an equal: King Cyrus the Great.”

Ohana also announced that he, together with international parliamentary leaders, will advocate for Trump’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu added that Trump is “the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House.”

In his own speech, Trump spoke of a new era dawning for Israel and the Middle East:

This is not merely the end of a war… it is also the end of an era of terror and death, and the beginning of an era of faith, hope, and of God.

Trump also called on more Arab nations to join the Abraham Accords, in order to further expand peace and cooperation in the region.

Israel has gained all that can be won through military force… Now it is time to translate those victories into the ultimate reward of peace and prosperity for the entire Middle East.
