Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman paid a visit to President Trump in Washington this week. A key topic during the meeting was the Abraham Accords, which are a central focus of the American president’s Middle East policy.
Saudi Arabia is regarded as the most important country in the region—not only because of its political and economic influence, but especially because it is the religious center of the Sunni world. The inclusion of Saudi Arabia would give the Abraham Accords historic scope and mark a breakthrough in the relationship between Israel and the Arab world.
Although Saudi Arabia has expressed its intention to join in the future, there are still obstacles, particularly concerning the position of the Palestinians and the conditions Riyadh attaches to that. Nonetheless, observers consider Saudi accession likely in the relatively near future.
According to biblical prophecy, a federation of ten countries will arise in the Middle East at the end of this eon, with the Jewish state as its center. Against that backdrop, the current developments in the region are highly remarkable!
