Currently almost all attention on the Goedbericht site and the forum is focused on the origin of evil. The legend of Lucifer who fell and thus became Satan is well known. Most Christians believe that this is in the Bible. Wrongly so. It is an idea that rests primarily on the rejection of God as Creator of both good and evil. Because this is found indigestible, a curtain of mist has been drawn to obscure the origin of evil as much as possible.

That obscuring proceeds as follows.
Question 1: How does evil come into this world?
Answer: Through eating the forbidden fruit.
Question 2: How did it come about that humanity ate the forbidden fruit?
Answer: That occurred through the deception of the serpent.
Question 3: How did it come about that the serpent wanted to deceive?
Answer: That is because the serpent is the devil, the father of lies.
Question 4: How does it come about that the devil is the father of lies?
Answer: The devil fell into sin.
Question 5: How does it come about that the devil fell into sin?
Answer: That is because the devil chose to do so.
Question 6: What caused the devil to choose sin?
Answer: That must have been a combination of environmental factors and Satan’s nature.
Question 7: Who was responsible for the environmental factors and Satan’s nature?
Answer: … uh, you must not ask such questions.

You sense, however long you keep pushing the hot potato in front of you, there is no escaping the necessity of arriving at God. For He is the Creator of all things. And so also of Satan. Either by accident or intentionally. One or the other. If Satan ‘accidentally’ became Satan, then this is a blunder on God’s part. If God did it intentionally, then the presence of sin and evil in this world evidently has a purpose. And that is precisely what Scripture teaches.

“For God did ENCLOSE ALL in disobedience, THAT He might have mercy upon ALL … For OUT of HIM and THROUGH HIM and TO HIM is the ALL. To Him be the glory to the eons! Amen.” (YLT)
Romans 11:32, 36
