Saddam Hussein

In the Nederlands Dagblad (Dutch newspaper) there was an article about the now captured ex-dictator of Iraq. I quote:
“Nebuchadnezzar had in the plain of Dura in the then province of Babylon a statue erected for himself with much gold. Saddam Hussein built statues in many hundreds of places and had glorious portraits hung up even in the far corners of Iraq. (…) Saddam Hussein himself liked to compare himself with the ruler also known from the Bible (…) On the rebuilt ‘palace of Nebuchadnezzar’ in the restored Babylon is written in large letters: ‘Restored in the era of Saddam Hussein, leader of Mesopotamia.’”
Anyway, Saddam Hussein’s role seems to be played out. But one thing must be clear: the role of Iraq is not finished. On the contrary! On the banks of the Euphrates, the ancient city of Babylon will in due time rise again in full glory. Scripture is clear that the ungodly world capital of the end time will be located… in Iraq. (Read: Babylon = Babylon)
With much more than ordinary interest, I therefore continue to follow the news in this part of the world.
