Evangelical Broadcasting Association and the new taboo

On August 12th of this year, I pointed out a sneaky policy of the Dutch Evangelical Broadcasting (EO) regarding homosexuality.
On the forum, many did not thank me for this. Most could not imagine such a thing from the EO.

Today, an article by Reina Wiskerke appeared in the Nederlands Dagblad, in which she affirms the above statement.
She points out that the EO, under the guise of breaking a taboo, is in reality creating a new taboo.
One must above all not say outright that homosexuality is sin.

Reina Wiskerke:

“Recently, Tijs van den Brink of the Evangelical Broadcasting Association had to explain himself when he was a guest on Paul de Leeuw’s show. Van den Brink remarked that even within homosexual relationships, partners should remain faithful to each other. Under that condition, he did see some room for such a relationship. The EO representative emphasized, however, that it is quite complicated to find that space in the Bible. Paul de Leeuw was satisfied, and Tijs van den Brink didn’t have to feel ashamed before the general public.”

And there are more signs that the course at the EO has shifted.
Naturally, when asked, fingers go straight to the lips.
Sssst, beaks shut. Because no one is supposed to notice.

Reina Wiskerke:

“The exercise in restraint is taking on the character of a permanent ban on clear statements about real-life practice. In doing so, a new taboo has been created. And this taboo too creates an illusionary world: pretending that the question ‘what a homosexual may or may not do’ can be avoided.

This illusionary world is not neutral: it serves the acceptance of homosexual relationships.
Anyone who still voices a clear rejection is viewed as a brute or a Neanderthal.”
