Ephesians 6:18 – Number 7 in the armour

By this instruction Paul mentions the seventh and last element of the armour. It takes an apart place, because it’s without a metaphor like sword or shield.

Until now, we might think that our contest is pure individual. Standing firm in a personal contest. And that is true, but we are not the only ones on the battle field. “All the saints” form an army together. Our stay in this world is not a pleasant picnic; it is war! And it’s important to realize that, because it makes us alert, awakened.

As important as the earlier mentioned elements of the armour are, it is also, through everything, to keep praying and begging about “all the saints”. Of course, not to make GOD change his mind (a ridiculous idea!), but to change ourselves.  It penetrates us of the knowledge that we belong to each other, and that we should all stand firm on that what is given us in Christ. To give us all “enlightened eyes” (1: 18; 3: 18)!
