Ephesians 6:15 – the feet sandaled

… and the feet sandaled with the readiness of the evangel of peace …

Girded about your loins with truth, speaks of knowing the truth and be well prepared. The sandals in this verse, have also to do with preparedness. In this case the feet are ready, i.e. sandaled and prepared to go. With our mouth we tell the good message, but our feet bring it.

Earlier in this letter Paul wrote that Christ, today, brings the evangel of peace to those far, and those near (2: 17). It refers to the evangel that Paul might bring under the nations. Without distinction. A message of peace and salvation. It’s the good message that GOD makes peace through the blood of the cross, and that He reconciles all, whether those on the earth or those in the heavens (Colossians 1: 20). Indeed, you’re reading this correctly. GOD makes every enemy to a lover of Him!

Doesn’t it sound strange that “the good message of the peace” is a part of a panoply? Indeed, but that is yet the crux. To keep standing, good sandals are essential. And the sandals are this “evangel of peace”. Thát we may bring. Everywhere!
