Colossians 1: 9 – Filled full with the realization of His will.

With great gratitude Paul had heard from Epaphras how the Evangel had been received among the Colossians and how it was bearing fruit and growing in faith, love and hope. From the day that Paul heard this, he did not cease to give thanks for them (:3) but also to pray for them and ask that they “may be filled with the realization of his will.”
What we should think about with “his will” becomes clear when we read again about God’s will later in this chapter (:27). “To them (= the saints) God WILL make known what are the glorious riches of the of this secret among the nations: Christ among you, the expectation of glory!”
How limited and narrow is our thinking often, by automatically linking God’s will to our life here on earth? God’s will is so much more inclusive! He wants to make us partakers of “the riches of the glory of the secret among the nations,” namely, of Christ. Not just to know this, but to be filled with awareness of this!
