Colossians 1: 16 – All is created through Him (2)

Colossians 1:16 was not written to clarify that the Son is the Creator, but to show that the Son is the first of every creature. Paul gives three reasons for this. First of all, because in Him everything was created. Every creature is within His domain.
Secondly, all things were created through Him. How God did this is not stated here, but in so many Scriptures we learn that God created all things by his word (Ps.33:6; John 1:3). But is that the same as the universe being created by Him? Isn’t the word something, instead of someone? Yes, but from John 1 we know that the Son is the word of God made flesh (John 1:14). God spoke his word to Mary and she became pregnant. So that Paul can say retroactively that through the Son (as the personification of the word) it has already been created.
We never read that all things come from the Son. That glory is reserved exclusively for “one God the Father, out of Whom all things are (…) and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are…” (1 Cor.8:6).
