1 Corinthians 12:13 – Óne baptism – in Spírit!

For in one spirit also we all are baptized into ono body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and all are made to imbibe one spirit.

Participating in the one body, “the Christ” (: 12) does not occur through human hands. It is not visible or tangible. The baptism referred to here is “in óne spírit“. It was once John who baptized the people of Israel in the Jordan River and repeatedly emphasized that he baptized in water, but that the one who would come after him would baptize in spirit. The baptism of John is a baptism in water, the baptism of Christ is a baptism in spirit. That is the true Christian baptism!

All who drink from the one spirit of GOD or the living water (read: from the words of GOD) those are added to the ecclesia. Being part of this body is not a matter of human administration. And no committee of people decides about that. Descent does not play a role and someone’s social position has nothing to do with it. It is also completely unrelated to religious duties. The criterion is purely spiritual: do you drink from the living words of GOD?
