Colossians 1: 22 – From minus to plus

And you, being once estranged and enemies in comprehension, by wicked acts, yet now He reconciles by His body of flesh, through His death, to present you holy and flawless and unimpeachable in His sight…

How great is the impact of the means that God uses to reconcile alienated people and enemies! He does this “through the death” of His Son. On the cross the Son died and three days later He came out of death, once for all. It is “through the death” of His Son that the world demonstrated its enmity, while God demonstrated resurrection power, love and life! Ultimately, no enmity can match that.

The great thing about the Biblical truth of reconciliation is that God destroys enmity, not by destroying the enemies, but by turning them into enthusiasts! Only GOD is able to do that and only the ultimate proof of His love (the death of His Son) can accomplish that.

Those who are reconciled are changed from within. The believers Paul writes about were “enemies in comprehension, by wicked acts” but are now presented by God “holy and flawless and unimpeachable His sight.” That is the life-changing power of the Gospel!
